Discipline

Welcome to Discipline Training, Cadets:

Discipline if the foundation of outstanding leadership. Attention! Officer on deck! These are the words graduates of Fleet Academy should expect to hear from their crew when they enter a room. It is part of fleet protocol, and should not be taken lightly. Discipline should never be taken lightly. Discipline is vital to a hierarchy structure like that of the fleet. Without discipline, rank is meaningless. The authority your rank entitles you to would go disrespected and your leadership would be challenged. In order for hierarchies to succeed, there must exist a social contract between all members of the hierarchy to respect and follow rank.

As a future officer of the fleet, your number one priority will be to enforce and maintain this social contract among all members of your crew. in this class, you will learn the fundamentals of discipline, from basic terms and expectations to the more complex disciplinary protocols of the fleet.

Assignment 1: As a reinstated cadet, you answer to your superior officers and owe them the proper respect afforded to them by their rank...a rank they have earned through hard work and service to the fleet. Your first assignment is to practice following protocol by greeting your superior officers with the proper salute, posture, and reverence. Remember that respect must be earned. Use this experience as an opportunity to get a feel for paying respect as well as earning respect.
